Sources say Senator Vitter lied to Christian ministers about his past
The following is a quote from an email sent by the Flaming Liberal:
Over the past few days it was confirmed on talk radio that David Vitter met with a number of Christian Conservative ministers/pastors in Baton Rouge in the weeks/months prior to the November 2004 general election in which he was elected to the Senate. Based on two independent sources who spoke on talk radio this past week, Vitter was asked at the meeting about the rumors circulating that he had committed adultery and had frequented prostitutes.
From what these two sources stated, Vitter denied the allegations and assured these Christian ministers there were "no skeletons in my closet." One source stated publicly the other day that Gene Mills, Executive Director of the Louisiana Family Forum, attended the meeting. It's been rumored that Religious Right leader James Dobson might have been there, but that has not been confirmed.
If Vitter lied to these pastors about his secret life (probably after everyone in attendance prayed for Vitter), then how can the public trust a man who would lie to Christian ministers who asked him a direct question about his adulterous double life? After that meeting, the Religious Right in Louisiana began an aggressive campaign to support and to ensure the election of David Vitter to the Senate based on his promotion of "Family Values" and his adherence to those values in his personal life. Now we know David Vitter is the antithesis of "Family Values." He's a fraud.

Update 2: Controversial Pastor Grant Storms, leader of the Christian Conservatives for Reform, has confirmed the Flaming Liberal's account of David Vitter lying to religious leaders in a private meeting about the skeletons in his past. He said so during the last half hour of Jeff Crouere's political radio show on WGSO 990am 7/16/07.

No more hypocritical than a Democratic president telling the whole American public "I never had sex with that woman," .. or words to that effect.
I'm disappointed in Vitter and I've called for his resignation, but I'm trying to keep this in perspective.
Ummmm....PawPaw, you do know that sex for money is illegal? Clinton did not commit a crime having his knob polished by a consenting adult while it was not for money. Vitter on the other hand, claims to be upright and wishes to dictate what is upstanding. That makes him a hypocrite and a criminal. Walking around holding a bible in one arm, and a hooker in the other does qualify him as the poster child for right wing hypocrisy! Family values? I just hope that Larry Flynt finds a connection to Bobby Jindal on the phone records. Then we will see how far the GOP take over of this state will go. They want it so bad, but this little speed bump will come in handy in pulling the drive train from under the GOP hypocrisy truck.
The guy should grow some balls and resign. He made that bed--literally--and now he has to sleep in it. He's already said it himself: even without the hypocrisy and the fact that Vitter's legislative record is nothing more than specious "family values," the fact that he is a public official should make this an easy decision. He's probably too much of a pussy to pull it off.
Does anyone have those funny pictures of him in that jean-shirt from right after the storm where--at each of the press conferences--he was trying to look like he was actually, physically doing something with the rescue? Those are great.

We should get Flynt's PI to investigate Jindal's staged birthing of his child at home. While not illegal in any way, and while I have little more to go on than suspicion, I think it would be great to show that Jindal made his wife have the kid at home so that his "family values" could go unquestioned, and so that he appeared to be in control under pressure. How did he not get his wife to the hospital? C'mon! Jindal calculates if taking a piss in the morning can be used to his political benefit; every press release is carefully weighed for its potential political fallout. There is no way he simply couldn't have had enough foresight to get his biotch to the emergency room.
I wish he had the same paternalistic instincts when he had the choice not to close W-16 at Charity. No one has harmed more people in the state of Louisiana in the past 5 years than Jindal.
His crimes are bound by the "Statute of Limitations" so done deal on that....He is reduced to a violation of ethics perhaps so deal with it.....Now let's move on along people as there is nothing left to see here...Impress me with results mofos.....

As much as incest abounds in Louisiana I would definitely recall Senator vitter if he was fucking his own daughter and I can definitely prove to anyon--the media and otherwise that Louisiana is still steeped in incest and has been for generations past....
I can show you whole entire towns who have been practicing incest for generations so go figure and I have written to the Governor concerning this.....It's kinda sickening when fathers rape their daughters and then move on to rape their granddaughters and the cycle keeps on continuing.....

Vitter did lie to Louisianans about what he did. Also, what he did was illegal (whether it should be illegal or not is a different question). Finally, he attempted to discredit and hurt the careers of the people who were trying to get the truth out of him about this matter.
