Always fun to watch the reformers eat their own. Jindal has put himself in this box and deserves whatever heat he gets. I hope this isn't the last of these little misunderstandings between St. Jindal and the Dragonslayers.

In all seriousness, though. That Forgotston post does a good job of demonstrating just how ridiculously over-the-top and unrealistic Jindal's campaign rhetoric was. And just how easily that kind of "zero-tolerance" extremism can become a (ahem)double-edged sword. The problem with Forgotston is he's only accidentally pointing this out. Forgotston actually believes in the draconian rhetoric. Jindal, it turns out, may not be quite so hard core. Should be fun.
Well it just goes to vindicate all the people who believed that Jindal was not the paragon of virtue when it came to ethics as he wanted everyone to believe.
Forgotston, believes, I think, that law should be enforced. He doesn't necessarily believe we need new laws so much as effective enforcement.
I think there is a balance of something like $800,000 in unpaid ethic fines, so if Jindal pays the fine he will be ahead of many.

two months ago i was hearing on the local tak radio that voters registerd independent would be able to vote in the louisiana primary.
now im hearing that this is not true.
