He just said it on his radio show about three times. "Jindal is the next Ronald Reagan". Then he said he would "jump for joy" if McCain picked Bobby for Veep, but then lamented that Jindal is "probably too conservative for McCain".

Update: Here's the quote from today's
transcript of Rush Limbaugh's radio show (during a discussion about McCain's Veep):
I'll tell you.... I'm going to give you a name that would make me jump for joy. It's not going to happen because he's not been...
Bobby Jindal. I did an interview with Bobby Jindal. He is the next Ronald Reagan, if he doesn't change. Bobby Jindal, the new governor of Louisiana is the next Ronald Reagan. He's young. He was just sworn in for his first term. He's the guy that beat the liberal Democrat machine throughout Louisiana. He did it on 100% conservatism.
... This guy could be the next Ronald Reagan. If McCain chose him, here's a southern state; this is Louisiana, but I think he may be too conservative for McCain. That depends on who they think McCain will need or want, but Jindal is very young, and he's only in his first year as governor and doesn't really have... He came from the House of Representatives.

Well, there he goes again. . .
I agree with Limbaugh on one thing (Hell must have LITERALLY frozen over... sorry, I couldn't help myself). Jindal is probably far too conservative for McCain.
Im sure the blind Jindal followers would LOVE for Jindal to ignore the job he was just elected to and run for VP. They love anything he does and would not care how badly it leaves our state. (Of course, some would argue that perhaps Louisiana would be better with Jindal running for VP, because the less time he spends doing his job, the less chance he will have to harm Louisiana).
Is it possible that Jindal would be too conservative for Reagan as well? That would be an interesting debate.
This post begs da kvestion: what in hell are you doing listening to that tripe in the first place? (with the exception of the part where Jindal is too conservative for McCain, a'course)
God damn it lippy, you beat me to it.
Shit, and I thought I had no life.
Theif must have been promised a post in Obabababababama (sorry, keys got stuck) cabinet 'cause between McCain and Obamamamamamamamama, we screwed.
"if you know your enemies and know yourself, you will not be imperiled in a hundred battles"
--Sun Tzu, who also said:
"There is no instance of a nation benefitting from prolonged warfare."
Um, if Jindal was on the ticket, and if McCain was somehow elected...Mitch Landrieu would be governor.
Hmm. That's something for me to consider.
"He beat the liberal Democrat machine throughout Louisiana".
First, that's just flat out not true. There was no Democrat[ic] machines working during the election he won. He lost the only election that ever featured machine politics. That's the way we ended up with Governor Blanco in the first place. Bobby J, is no campaigner. Limbaugh wishing it so doesn't make it happen.
I wonder what Rush thinks about Bobby's effusive praise for B.Obama?
Not to mention, "liberal"? Where is this vaunted statewide liberal beast of which Rushcontin speaks?
I've said it before and I'll say it again: no one is more consistently wrong about Louisiana than Limbaugh.
I agree with oyster and his reasons for listening to conservative talk... it is always good to know what your enemy is thinking/saying/doing.
And I really don't know how he calls Louisiana liberal. We are a red state, with perhaps a purplish hue in the mix because the Democrats control the legislature, but there are enough non-liberal Democrats in the legislature.
Perhaps rush is back into the pills and that is why he doesn't make sense? Nah, he never made sense, on pills or otherwise.
You all are ignoring three rather obvious reasons for Rush to turn on the b.s.
1) It's a cheap and easy way for Rush to demonstrate that he's not a biggot. He says that he'd back a minority group member who's a zillion to one shot at best. He gets to establish his open-mindedness in a way that he'll never have to back up.
2) It's a way to woo Asian-Americans (or just those of Indian descent) to both his show and the Republican Party. Not a very large group, either Asians in general or Indians in particular, but a prosperous one with no defined party loyalty. Also, a large concentration in California, if Republicans are ever going to make that state competitive.
3) Brent Musburger (sp?) style douchebaggery. Name the longshot at the beginning of the season, if the team bombs, your "watch out for team so-and-so" statement is conveniently forgotten. If the team does well, you can gloat about your brilliant analysis. If Jindal gains national prominence in a couple of years, Rush will be able to say, "you see, I've been telling you about Jindal..." If Jindal flops, Rush's enthusiasm is forgotten.
