This already has made my week... and it's like 10:00 am on Monday
Hahaha!
That was just awesome! Thanks!
I guess following the sources would have revealed the truth, eh?

Or just reading through the whole post.... having read or heard some of these MLK speeches.
I'm so glad nobody ruined the game, Oyster.
I was real pissed at your post, but I ended up recognizing a bunch of those quotes... then I understood.
Sly, very sly. Brilliant, too.
Brilliant conceit!

You know, I was gonna post to the other thread with a "huh?, those statements seem rather insightful". Im glad I didn't, very well played sir.

Well played Oyster.

You totally rock, sir.
Priceless!
Oyster,
For conservatives like myself who have to suffer opinion pieces from liberal columnists every single Martin Luther King Day saying that, in order to honor King, we need to adopt the entire liberal agenda, those quotes aren't all that shocking.
We honor King because of what he accomplished in the Civil Rights Movement, but that doesn't mean everything he did or said was perfect or even right. We certainly know that King was a chronic plagiarist and philanderer, but simply because he did those things doesn't make them reasonable or morally correct.
And in any case, Wright isn't King. King's place in history earns him a good deal of consideration. What Wright has done and said should rise or fall on its own merit. King's more radical quotes don't excuse Wright anymore than King's adultery excuses David Vitter.
This is just a distraction from the real issue here, Oyster.
By Owen Courrèges, at 9:26 PM
And that "real issue" is whether Wright is fit to be president, right?
By Nick Istre, at 1:28 AM
And it still cannot win an election. But, koooool.
nick,
No, the real issue is whether Obama's close association with Wright, including his recent failure to disavow him, should factor into whether or not somebody chooses to vote for Obama. Trinity United is a racist church, and yet Obama has been going there for years. That either says something about his beliefs or his judgment.

Owen,
Shouldn't you be burning a cross somewhere?
ashley,
It pleases me to see you sink to the lowest possible level of debate.
FYI, I'm Catholic. The idea that I'd be engaged in any sordid KKK ritual is ridiculous on its face.

Brilliant!

Oyster, you magnificent bastard! (Or as a new Orleans native, should I say bastid.)
