This might be a good time to call Congressman Cao

... and other U.S. Representatives who are officially undecided on the health care reform bill.

Congressional switchboard # 202-559-4225

I called Rep. Anh Cao's office this morning in support of the (obviously not totally satisfactory) bill. But in terms of future consequences, both in terms of policy and politics, this is a big one.

You know what sucks balls?

Off-season football. Here's another reason to hate it: Scott Fujita signs with the Browns.

Bob Marshall wrote a column in today's paper about why "Scott Fujita, New Orleans resident, is a great role model for all New Orleanians." The dude donated a portion of his Super Bowl winnings to coastal restoration for South Louisiana. I mean... g-damn I'm gonna miss this guy.

After the NFC Championship game I held it together until I was driving to the Kingpin and heard Fujita doing the post-game presser. He responded to the inevitable "what does this win mean to you" question by saying New Orleans was where his kids were born. That's when I teared up.

Then a few days later Fujita went on Dave Zirin's Edge of Sports radio show and read a quote from his wife Jaclyn, who said "The people of New Orleans love the Saints not because they provide a distraction from their fall, but because they are a reflection of their rise."

I'll have more in later days on Fujita, but suffice it to say I'm going to miss him being a Saint.
